What is Dermapen and Platelet Rich Plasma?

Dermapen is a multi micro-needling treatment that creates superfine skin punctures to stimulate the production of elastin and collagen naturally. Micro-needling is a natural process that stimulates the body’s own repair and renewal function to create collagen and elastin.

These micro skin punctures are large enough to carry the cells of the Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) through the deeper layers of the skin, where they can release their growth factors. PRP is a concentrate of platelets derived from the patient’s own blood.

In the body, platelets are the cells that arrive first to the site of an injury to release their growth factors to initate repair.

The micro skin punctures created by the Dermapen can carry up to 80% more PRP deeper into the skin.

We have more than 15 years experience in using PRP for stimulating repair of tissues such as tendons, ligaments, and joints. Based on the same principles, we are now using PRP for facial treatments to help stimulate tissue repair and promote regeneration and rejuvenation.
